Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Review

I just recently received the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve skin care system from Influenster to try out and I highly recommend it if you are looking for an easy skin care routine!  I received the Fresh Youth Preserve Moisturizer, eye cream, and night cream.  These products have been tested and created for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin types.  I personally think I have oily skin, but I will confirm with my dermatologist as now I need to know exactly what my skin type is instead of assuming if I want to continue to try out more skin care products.  For now, let's just assume that I have oily skin.

I've been using these products for about a month now and my skin hasn't had any signs of irritation or dissatisfaction.  I found these products to be light, moisturizing, and refreshing.  They will also leave your skin smelling like cucumber water.  Every morning after I wash my face, I apply the moisturizer before applying SPF.  I only apply the eye cream at night along with the dream face cream (night cream).  These formulas are super light and they dissolve immediately into your pores without being oily.

If you are looking for anti-aging or anti fine line products, I am not sure these are it as they don't contain any collagen generating ingredients such as retinol.  I am really into reading skin care ingredients and deciphering what the first 10 ingredients actually do and I am here to tell you what they actually mean with the help of Paula's Choice Ingredient Dictionary.

Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Pentylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Betaine, Steareth-21, Nelumbo Nucifera Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Averrhoa Carambola Leaf Extract, Tocopherol, Silica, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Sorbitol, Dimethicone, Sodium PCA, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Tromethamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Lauroyl Lysine, Adenosine, Glucose, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Metabisulfite, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Citral.

1. Water- The most widely used cosmetic ingredient; water is almost always listed first on an ingredient.
2. Glycerin- Glycerin is a skin-replenishing and skin-restoring ingredient, meaning it is a substance found naturally in skin, helping to establish normal balance and hydration. It’s one of the many substances in skin that helps maintain a healthy look and feel, defending against dryness and working to maintain skin’s moisture level. Essentially, glycerin is a master at hydration, and works best when combined with other replenishing and emollient ingredients.
3. Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate- Gel-textured ingredient used in many lightweight moisturizers. It’s a mix of propylene glycol and capric acid, a fatty acid derived from plants good for making the skin soft and smooth.
4. Pentylene Glycol- A synthetic skin-replenishing agent and solvent good for texture enhancement.
5. Cetearyl Alcohol- Fatty alcohol that is a mixture of gentle cetyl and stearyl alcohols. It’s used as an emollient, texture enhancer, foam stabilizer, and carrying agent for other ingredients. Can be derived naturally, as in coconut fatty alcohol, or made synthetically. It is almost always combined with similar-feeling ingredients to create a product’s texture and influence its slip when applied to skin.
6. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride- Derived from coconut oil and glycerin, it’s considered an excellent emollient and skin-replenishing ingredient. It’s included in cosmetics due to its mix of fatty acids that skin can use to replenish its surface and resist moisture loss. Caprylic/capric triglyceride can also function as a thickener, but its chief job is to moisturize and replenish skin. This ingredient’s value for skin is made greater by the fact that it’s considered gentle.
7. Cetearyl Isononanoate- is a good solubilizer for active ingredients and UV filters. Stable to oxidation.
8. Betaine- A gentle hydrating ingredient that may be plant-derived or synthetic, betaine also naturally occurs in skin and the body. It’s known as an osmolyte, an ingredient that helps skin adapt to moisture losses and gains, essentially working to balance skin’s hydration.
9. Steareth-21- A polyethylene glycol ether made from stearic acid. It is used as an emulsifier in cosmetics and personal care products.
10. Nelumbo Nucifera Extract- Also known as the Lotus flower and leaf/root extracts contain a significant amount of potent antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenol, and vitamins. As a result, these compounds provide natural antiaging benefits to the skin. Antioxidants protect the skin from free radicals that damage skin and cause signs of aging. Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve, skin care, face moisturizer, eye cream, night cream, Fresh, face cream, Sephora, Influenster
